New Bedford Reads
The New Bedford Art Museum is proud to partner with Mayor Jon Mitchell and Scholastic on the New Bedford Reads initiative. New Bedford Reads is committed to providing families with the tools to promote literacy at home and in the community.
At the museum, we recognize that our schools cannot support the literacy of our city’s children alone; we must work together as a community to ensure that all New Bedford students reach their full potential. That’s why we’re writing to ask for your involvement.
There are many ways to get involved with the New Bedford Reads initiative! First, go to your closest New Bedford Public Library and get the children in your life a library card! While you’re there, don’t forget to check out some of the fun events the Library hosts every day.
We’re also giving away free books! Please stop by the museum at 608 Pleasant St, New Bedford to pick up free books in front foyer!
Learning to read sets children up for a rewarding and successful life. Join us in sharing a love of reading with all New Bedford children.
