The Professor, Alyson Therrien

Alyson Therrien is an artist who expresses her work through photography, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and architectural illustration. A Fairhaven, Massachusetts native, she received her Architecture degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and has practiced design and construction in Boston and D.C. for nearly 25 years. Therrien creates art and enjoys writing from her home studios in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

While she focuses much of her creative energy through photography, Therrien has also discovered the joy in creating detailed mandalas using beach stones and other media.

In 2020, she was one of 28 artists selected for the New Bedford Art Museum Members’ Exhibition which displayed her Acacia Tree captured on safari in South Africa. Two of Therrien’s other photos have been awarded first place at local juried art shows. Much of her photography is inspired by the subtleties and serenity in undisturbed landscapes.
