Students will create their own custom tarot card in watercolor! In this series each student will get a brief overview of the tarot Major Arcana, learn historic and modern symbolism used in tarot, and we will determine the student's personal tarot card based on their Zodiac sign. We will work together to design a custom tarot card. Students will learn basic watercolor techniques as they illustrate their ideas. Students will be able to take home a unique hand painted tarot card of their own.

TEACHER BIO

Kayla Conchinha Conner is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, poet, and educator. She was born and raised in New Bedford and received her Bachelor's degree from UMass Dartmouth in Philosophy in 2012. Kayla primarily works in watercolor using sacred geometry, esoteric symbolism, specifically tarot, which she has been practicing for over a decade. Kayla currently teaches workshops in watercolor, knitting, crochet, and tarot. She shows artwork regularly around New Bedford (including a recent solo show at Winston Gallery) and has published poetry and artwork several times with Anomaly Poetry and Domesticated Primate. She lives in New Bedford with her husband, two children, and a menagerie of animals.
