About Matt Sesow

Matt Sesow was born in 1966 and raised in Nebraska. His family refused to let the accident define him, pushing him into sports and academics; he went on to a university degree in Computer Information Systems and a career as a software tester at IBM, and later AOL and Netscape.

He had no art education of any kind. Painting began in the evenings and at weekends in 1994, at the age of 28, after he moved to Washington, DC — an attempt to work through something he had never been able to say out loud. Collectors of self-taught and outsider art began buying his work in 1995.
