Join us every Sunday in the Art Museum for family-friendly activities for kids ages 4-12 and their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends. Learn about our exhibitions and make art, get creative, and have fun! Drop in anytime.
(Children must be accompanied by an adult.)
Join KidZone for a month-long celebration of Women’s History Month through hands-on art projects inspired by influential women artists. Each session will include a short, kid-friendly story about the featured artist’s life and creative journey, adding a meaningful educational component to the artmaking experience.
Best for elementary-aged children. All materials are provided.
March 1st – Frida Kahlo
Create symbolic self-portraits inspired by Frida Kahlo’s vibrant colors, expressive style, and meaningful imagery. Students will include personal symbols that represent who they are.
March 8th – Yayoi Kusama
Design bold patterned artworks inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s famous polka dots and immersive installations. Students will explore repetition, pattern, and color to create eye-catching compositions.
March 15th – Georgia O’Keeffe
Paint large-scale flower studies inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s close-up perspectives. Students will focus on scale, color blending, and observing natural forms in a new way.
March 22nd – Amy Sherald
Create contemporary portraits inspired by Amy Sherald’s bold backgrounds and thoughtful use of color. Students will explore mood, expression, and storytelling through portraiture.
