Join us every week for our Enchanted Evenings. A new and different menu of fun, educational, and entertaining experiences at the Art Museum.
Our interdisciplinary public programs are tied to current museum exhibitions. With free admission to four galleries, explore the humanities holistically through film, dance, poetry, and music, and connect with like-minded individuals.
There is something for everyone at Enchanted Evenings.

MOVIE NIGHTS WITH MOCHA

An ongoing film series curated by MJ Herrup (aka Mocha,) a film historian, documentary filmmaker, and founder of the New Bedford Film Society. Viewers can choose from animated, art house, and
experimental, foreign, Hollywood, and independent feature-length films, and documentaries. Mocha offers deeply insightful film notes and leads lively post-film discussions among audience members.

TWIRL & WHIRL DANCE

From cutting-edge modern dance to ballet, noted dancer, choreographer, and producer, Ali Kenner-Brodsky and visiting guest choreographers curate performances, lectures, and workshops to introduce various dance forms.

THE PEOPLE'S POETRY SLAM

 Poets and spoken word artists are invited to sign up to perform original works and compete. Three jurors decide the best performer of the evening. Jurors include the current Poet Laureate of New Bedford, Sarah Jane Mulvey, Maia (Maize) Livramento and Lucy Loftus.

SPOTLIGHT THEATER

A dynamic blend of play readings, screenplays, and live performances in a condensed format. Each month, audiences are treated to a diverse selection of captivating stories brought to life on stage. Spotlight Theater showcases the talents of both emerging and established playwrights, screenwriters, and performers. Join us for an evening of entertainment that leaves you inspired.

FriYAY LIVE MUSIC

FRYAY! LIVE MUSIC

Folk, soul, pop, electronica, rock, hip hop, and jazz, are just some of the genres you might hear at any given FriYAY event. Curated by Scott Bishop, a New Bedford-based singer, songwriter, and sound sculptor, visitors hear local musicians play a two-hour set.
